Training the Xing Yi Nei Gong and the abridged Yang style Taiji form is an excellent way to both introduce a beginner to the practice of internal martial arts as well as refine a more experienced practitioner's understanding of the internal principles that unite Taiji, Ba Gua and Xing Yi. I'll be honest, bagua looks ridiculous to me (though I know this is from a point of ignorance, and I don't mean that offensively) and I think I'd feel very silly doing it.. This workshop gives students external methods to develop these key foundational skills as a means to enhance their internal practices or prepare them to study internal arts in the future. As far as I know the typical "San Ti" posture is not usually practiced in Yiquan.. But I know bagua, along with xing yi and tai chi, have been considered the . So what you might do is So maybe see how much Xingyi standing you can learn before you learn another style, since Xingyi standing won't involve any experimentation to work into your practice, but thats just my 2 cents. Well, you can pick up some ideas/approaches, and surely training methods for adjunctive practice,but to really "get" it,you have to spend the same amount of time on it as you would on TC. First, I have no experience in Taijiquan, Baguazhang, or any "internal" martial art for that matter. Such Chinese martial art systems as Taiji Quan, Xingyi Quan, Bagua Zhang, Tongbei Quan, Shaolin Rou Quan (少林 柔 拳), and so on are known as “Internal” because they contain Neigong ( 內功 ) and Qigong (氣 功 ) exercises and methodology at A few thousand years ago, esoteric Chinese Taoists developed physical exercises, breathing methods, and meditation methods that worked the inside of the body to increase one's physical health and spiritual well being.
